Anna Howard's Bio

Anna has been working in youth ministry for nearly ten years, but it was during my time at Fuller Theological Seminary while she was working on an Master of Arts in Youth, Family, and Culture that she realized her call to youth ministry went beyond working with the youth themselves and extended to working with youth workers and churches and helping them do youth ministry.  She has a passion for youth leaders, both paid and volunteer, and want to do everything she can to help them succeed.

She has worked with three different churches in that ten years of youth ministry.  The first was a mega church in a middle city (not quite inner city) environment.  The program was huge, giving much valuable experience with programming and events on a large scale.  The second church was a Taiwanese congregation of about a thousand where she worked with the English congregation, junior, high school, and college.  The third was a church in the Diocese of Tennesse, at a congregational-sized parish in a rural setting, where she spent the first two years of my time in Middle Tennessee.

These three churches provided a fairly broad sweep of experience with youth in different contexts and from different cultures, allowing insight into what it takes to do youth ministry in different places, and what youth from different backgrounds are dealing with.

She has also written several articles on youth ministry, contributed to the Thomas Nelson Sourcebook for Youth Ministers, and is the author of Creative Bible Lessons in Ezekiel.
